Over on Inside Higher Ed, there is an interesting discussion going on, sparked by my friend Paul Sracic, professor and chair of the political science department at Youngstown State University, on the question of whether a professor should share his or her political views with students (”Teach Only What You Know“).

You can read my 2 cents worth among the various responses.  I would also recommend reading Anthony T. Kronman’s new book, Education’s End: Why Our Colleges and Universities Have Given Up on the Meaning of Life.  This recent editorial of his will give you the major theses of this important book.
